Happy Wednesday! My week got off to a really weird start, so I’m a little thrown off and very happy we are already almost halfway through the week! A quick little Monday flight story before I talk about today’s look – basically, after being in the air for 15 minutes en route to Cleveland, the pilot got on and told us the plane’s wheels wouldn’t retract, so we would have to turn around and go back to Chicago. You could hear the air making weird noises underneath the plane – I guess that would be why! So we turned around, re-landed with our stuck wheels, and then proceeded to go on a wild goose chase around O’Hare for 3 hours trying to figure out what replacement plane we were going to be put on (which eventually also got held for an hour for “maintenance fixes”). A nice little adventure to kick off my 2018 work travel – one of my goals this year is to work on going with the flow a little better, so I guess this was my first test. I’m going to go ahead and say I have room to improve there…
Another goal for 2018 is to add some more versatility to some of the outfits I post – workwear being one of the main areas I want to hit! A lot of us gals work a 9-5 office job, and no matter the dress code, it can get monotonous and daunting having to plan an outfit every day. I really try to buy and wear pieces to work that I wear in my “real” life as well – and this look is a great example of that! This is the 3rd pair of these pants I’ve bought – the price is so good for the quality, and they’re incredibly comfortable and don’t wrinkle easily. I usually buy petite sizing, but they carry them in regular and tall as well in around 10 different colors. I love wearing pants on the weekends too – I think these in particular are super chic with high waist and tie belt, and the color goes with a lot. This sweater is also a super versatile piece – great with these pants, but also great with high-waisted jeans or even leggings. I am always tempted by a white sweater, but I love the neckline and shorter length on this – it’s a lot different from the collection of oversized sweaters my closet is currently stuffed with.
Hope everyone has a great rest of your week – see you Friday!
