Happy Wednesday! My week got off to a really weird start, so I’m a little thrown off and very happy we are already almost halfway through the week! A quick little Monday flight story before I talk about today’s look – basically, after being in the air for 15 minutes en route to Cleveland, the pilot got on and told us the plane’s wheels wouldn’t retract, so we would have to turn around and go back to Chicago. You could hear the air making weird noises underneath the plane – I guess that would be why! So we turned around, re-landed with our stuck wheels, and then proceeded to go on a wild goose chase around O’Hare for 3 hours trying to figure out what replacement plane we were going to be put on (which eventually also got held for an hour for “maintenance fixes”). A nice little adventure to kick off my 2018 work travel – one of my goals this year is to work on going with the flow a little better, so I guess this was my first test. I’m going to go ahead and say I have room to improve there…
Happy Monday! Not gonna lie, I’m struggling hard over here with my first week back traveling after the lack of schedule over the holidays – it almost reminds me of working out or starting a diet. Once you have been doing it regularly and are in the habit, it’s not too bad – but getting started in your routine is the hardest part. So, I’m hoping next week will feel like normal again – until then, this will be a multi-coffee trip day!
Happy Friday, everyone – hope you’ve all had a great week! The first week back to work after the holidays is so tough – there’s just a different vibe to the winter weather and the mood in general. The extreme cold here in Chicago has also made me not want to leave the house for anything other than carbs and wine – not sure that really helps! I’ve got a weekend packed full of dinner + brunch plans though, so I’m hoping that helps combat the January blues.
Hey everyone! I am super excited for this post – baking is a really fun hobby of mine, and I’ve been wanting to highlight the tips and tricks I’ve learned for a while, but I didn’t know if anyone was interested in it! I took an Instagram poll and got a pretty hefty majority of Yes votes – so here we are. I might do some more detailed posts down the road, but today I want to kind of highlight what made me get into baking/decorating, my recipes, the tools I use, and any other random tricks I’ve learned! It was also a resolution of mine to work on more lifestyle/non-fashion posts this year, so I’m trying to hit on that this month. If baking isn’t your jam – I’ll be back tomorrow with my usual posts!
Well – 2018 is upon us, and around this time of year I always get sappy and reflective and think about where I was in life at this time one year ago. I didn’t have a blog then, but it was being created in my mind at that point in time, which is really fun to think about. The whole “starting a new year” thing is what really pushed me to bite the bullet and set this site up – so, this year I am trying to lay out what my goals are (even the smallest things) and try and set a trajectory for my year.
